Kitson Boyce Business Support Manager Wins At Devon & Somerset Law Society Awards

Devon law firm Kitson Boyce is delighted to announce that Angie Beresford, our Business Support Manager, won ‘Support Team Member of the Year’ at the Devon & Somerset Law Society Awards in Exeter on 19th June 2025.

Nominated for her true embodiment of the firm’s core values over the past 12 months, Angie was able to collect the award in the company of both her son, Billy, and fellow Kitson Boyce colleagues, during an impressive ceremony held at the University of Exeter’s Great Hall.

Angie was shortlisted for the award alongside six other worthy support staff from other firms in Devon and Somerset. To then take home the main prize on the night highlights just how outstanding her contributions have been.

This award win continues recent Devon & Somerset Law Society Awards success for the firm, having also been the proud winners of ‘Law Firm of the Year’ at last year’s ceremony.

The judges were particularly impressed with Angie’s transition from PA to former Managing Partner James Cross to becoming Business Support Manager. Just some of her award-winning contributions highlighted included project managing the redecoration of our Torquay headquarters at Minerva House, planning a modern archiving outsourced solution, and the rollout of comprehensive training on fire, first aid and sexual harassment.

Angie was also recognised for the huge impact her initiative has had on fellow colleagues and their wellbeing. After recognising that many members of the firm are carers, she took it upon herself to launch our Carers Support Group and bring together these individuals in a supportive environment. It has always been in Angie’s nature to be modest and make an impact by putting others first, so we are delighted that her work has now received the region-wide recognition it deserves.

Commenting on her well-deserved Devon & Somerset Law Society Awards success, Angie said:

“I’m honoured to have been secretly nominated by the firm as I quite like to operate in the background. Of course, I couldn’t have achieved this without the support of my colleagues so it was really nice to share the moment with them and with my son by my side.”

Kate Barton, Partner, added:

“After being with the firm for over two decades, Angie has had a real renaissance in her working life. Angie has embraced changes and embarked upon a new career at Kitson Boyce. She has channelled her pride into working at the firm and has made a massive impact upon its operations and efficiency. It was great to be there to see her get the recognition she fully deserves.”
