Devon Law Firm Kitson Boyce Holds Successful 2024 AGM

Almost exactly a year on from the merger of Kitsons and Boyce Hatton, Kitson Boyce LLP was delighted to hold its 2024 Annual General Meeting last month.

The AGM, which took place at Exeter Golf & Country Club, saw staff from the award-winning law firm’s offices in Torquay, Exeter, Plymouth and Totnes come together to reflect on a highly successful first year as Kitson Boyce.

One of the core aims of the law firm merger was to bring together like-minded professionals to deliver the highest levels of client service and the AGM was a celebration of the successes of this approach so far.

The event began with an introduction from Managing Partner Rhodri Davey, who reflected on progress since the merger and looked ahead to the future by sharing some updates from the Partners conferences in November and June. Growth was the flavour of the day and Rhodri talked the firm through the results of a recent staff survey and steps being taken to further enhance the experience of working at Kitson Boyce.

Attendees were then joined by Martyn King, who has been supporting the Devon law firm with business development since the start of this year. He talked through the exciting growth projects in the works – so watch this space!

The AGM also included an interactive session on core values from the firm’s HR consultant Jess Pickup. From Partners to trainees, Jess encouraged all staff to reflect on what matters to them and how they can help to define what it means to work at Kitson Boyce. It was an insightful session and one that will play a pivotal role in guiding the future of the firm.

The main event of the day then took place in the afternoon with an exciting ‘Race Across Exeter’! Teams scrambled across key locations in the city with no phones, no cars and only £30 to spend! Locations included The Tally Ho Pub, the Exeter office, Exeter Quay and The Devon Hotel before heading back to the Exeter Golf & Country Club. It was a close race, but congratulations must go to the winning team named ‘We’re Lost’ that consisted of Kate Barton, Jasmine Parr, Natalia Lesniak, Madeline Baker, Melanie Watts, Judy Vaughan, Lauren Jeffrey, Maya Bent and Lucy Henman.

Reflecting on the day, Kyle Rich, Solicitor in our Business team said: “It was fantastic to see all of our people come together for a highly successful first AGM as Kitson Boyce LLP. A lot has happened since we joined forces a year ago and the AGM allowed us to celebrate the successes of the past year whilst also taking time to reflect on how our shared vision can further enhance our service to clients.”

“We’re delighted with the way that our staff have got on board with our core values and growth opportunities and are excited to see how ideas shared at this year’s AGM will come to fruition in 2024/2025!”
